Dhaulagiri Integrated Rural Development Center (DIRDC) is a non-governmental, non-profit making local development organization established in 2002 by the self motivated local residents of Baglung to render basic social services to people focusing the poor, marginalized, and disadvantaged households living in rural areas of Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi, Mustang, Kaski, Syangja, Lamjung, Gorkha, Tanahu and Nawalparasi Districts of Western Development Region/ Province No. 4 of Nepal.
Within a span of 13 years period, DIRDC has been established as one of the pioneer local development institution in the Western Development Region and recognized nationally and internationally. The role of DIRDC has been well recognized by the local communities, government line agencies as well as major donors supporting various community development programs in the country. The programs run by DIRDC are marked by high effectiveness and efficiency, especially community development sectors and strengthening the capacity of poor and disadvantaged communities.
DIRDC has been initiated to develop itself as a regional resource center for local development within the Western Development Region of Nepal. It has been conducting different types of (technical, social) regional, district level trainings in coordination with different line agencies as well likeminded organizations, institutions and it has been successful in harnessing moral support and trust from local communities, concerned Government Line Agencies and other donors in this regard.
